Description: Vector polygons that represent the landward extent of moderate wave action associated with the 1% annual chance (100-yr recurrance interva) flood elevation. These areas have water depths that would support a wave height expected to impart structural damage to residential development – known in FEMA parlance as the Limit of Moderate Wave Action in “LiMWA”. This polygon represents all areas seaward of the FEMA definition of the LiMWA, including the coastal high hazard zone (Zone VE). Derived from spatially variable flood depth values determined from post-analysis of FIS wave hazard modeling. A coverage was created for the 1% annual chance flood elevation for each SLR scenario. Coverages can be identified from the coverage name, formatted as XXX_YY_limwa, where XXX is the geographic area, YY is the SLR scenario in inches. Note, this layer terminates near Verplank on the Hudson River - areas upstream to not have sufficient fetch to produce wave heights that would result in overland waves greater than 1.5 ft.
